The Siobhan Dowd Trust

Home

The Siobhan Dowd Trust exists to help disadvantaged children in the UK and Ireland discover and experience the joy of reading. It will offer financial support to public libraries; state school libraries (especially in economically challenged areas); children in care; asylum seekers; young offenders; and children with special needs.

Child reading

The Trust was set up with a bequest from Siobhan Dowd. All royalties from her literary estate are to go to the Trust to support the cause that she so passionately believed in and that she did so much to further in her lifetime.

The Siobhan Dowd Trust was launched in March 2008 and is still in the process of registering as a charity. We are not yet in a position to award grants; however, we welcome expressions of interest from potential beneficiaries. Please see the funding page for more details.
